Janis Marie Byrd

Mrs. Janis Marie Byrd, age 62, of Murray, KY died at 6:42am Thursday at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. She was born Dec. 9, 1950 in Murray, KY, and she was a member of The Jehovah Witness, and a LPN with over 30yrs of service, 25yrs at Murray-Calloway County Hospital, where she as served as unit secretary.    

She was married Sept. 1, 1977 to Albert Byrd Sr. and he preceded her in death May 26, 2010.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by one daughter; Heather (Byrd) Walker (Nicholas) and one son; Albert Byrd, Jr. all of Clarksville, TN, her parents; Raymond & Myrtle Sims, Jr. of Murray, KY, three sisters; Carole Martin (Charles) of Orlando, FL, Frankie Sims and Debra Maxwell (George) all of Murray, KY, one brother; Raymond Sims (Sue Retinger), of Murray, KY and five grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with John Dale officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00pm until 7:00pm Monday at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home.
