Joann Evans, age 78, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014, 6:16 a.m. at her home. Joann was a member of First Methodist in Benton. She was a member of the VFW Auxilliary and member of the Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association Auxilliary.
She was born in Marshall County and was the daughter of the late John Lents and the late Novice (Noles).
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob Evans; three children, daughter Karen Cunningham (husband Ronnie), son Mike Evans (wife Leslie), and son Brian Evans, all of Benton.
She was known as "Ma-Ann" to four grandchildren, Lyle Evans (wife Stacey), Hayley Donohoo (husband Josh), Jansen Cunningham, and Devon Evans; two great grandchildren, Lilly Evans and Quinn Donohoo; and one step great-grandchild, Sophie Donohoo. One sister, Janice Chiles and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jerry Lents, and grandparents, Delsie and Ed Noles, and Grace and Joe Smith.
Funeral service will be held at the Collier Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 4, 2014, 11:00 a.m., Ronny King and Scott English officiating.
Interment will follow in the Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
