Mrs. Joanne Sullivan Johnson, 87 of Benton, KY passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at her home.
Born Friday, March 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joe B. Sullivan and the late Ivaline (Wolf) Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Henry "Sig" Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She tailored clothing from her home until her health forced her to retire. She began working as a seamstress many years ago at the Merit Clothing Company in Mayfield, KY. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Benton.
She was blessed with four children; Norman Dale Johnson, wife Gloria Dale of Slaughters, KY; Rev. Joe K. Johnson, wife Mary Ann of Cadiz, KY; Donald J. Johnson (deceased) and Carolyn Hinton (deceased); three grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, wife Tara; Bradley Hinton and Bryan Johnson, wife Heather; great grandchildren, Collyn Johnson, Haleigh Johnson, Ryan Johnson (deceased), Tucker Johnson and Tyson Johnson.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY. Bro. Mark Doom will officiate. Interment will follow the service.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025.
The family request that memorial contributions be made in Joanne's memory to Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center, 1530 Lone Oak Rd., Paducah, KY 42003.
