Mr. Lawrence A. Rhodes, age 82 of Calvert City, KY passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014, at 6:35 p.m. at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY. He was a retired factory worker at Dimetic and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Calvert City, KY. He honorably served his country in US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rhodes was a member of the VFW post 1114 in Evansville, IN.
Born Wednesday, February 24, 1932 in Anderson, IN, he was the son of the late Elmer Rhodes and the late Catherine (Peters) Rhodes.
Surviving are sons, Richard Rhodes, wife Darla of Calvert City, KY; Daniel Rhodes of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Gurvis Rhodes of Evansville, IN, sisters, Betty Kellums of Newburg, IN; Rosella Wilson of Leopold, IN; grandchildren, Arron Rhodes of Lexington, KY, Krystal Humphrey of Calvert City, KY, Jacob Rhodes of Jacksonville, FL; and great-grandchildren, Alivia Rhodes of Lexington, KY, and Carson Humphrey of Calvert City, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Juanita E. (Ransom) Rhodes and his sister, Lucille Carter.
Private services with military honors will be held at a later date.
Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY has been entrusted with Mr. Rhodes' arrangements.
