MAYFIELD,KY Leah Adkins, age 53 passed away on January 4, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of Margaret Chase (Arthur) and Eual Adkins both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her loving maternal grandmother. Leah was born in Charleston, WV but was a long-time resident of Calvert City, KY. She enjoyed reading, shopping, watching western movies on TV, caring for her pets and stray animals. She also enjoyed working at McDonald's and other commercial establishments while residing in Calvert City.
She was a member of the Altona Baptist Church where she had many friends in addition to her special friends and neighbors. She was especially appreciative of her previous church family who were always available to assist her as needed. Leah was a kind and loving lady and will be missed very much by all who knew her. She was very independent but graciously accepted suggestions and help from those who had her best interest at heart.
She is survived by several cousins and aunts.
Cremation and burial are being arranged by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
Burial will be in Calvert City Cemetery with remains of other family.
Care for Leah at Fern Terrace Lodge was exemplary. Staff was very attentive to her needs, which was much appreciated by friends and family.
