Leon B. Parker, age 92, of Brewers Community, KY, died Friday, April 12, 2019, at Marshall County Hospital in Benton, KY. He was a lifetime member of the New Zion Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for over 50 years and was active in Baptist Missions. He served with Habitat for Humanity, Baptist Builders, and Disaster Relief Volunteer. He Retired as a Purchasing Agent for CC Metal and Alloys in Calvert City and Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Salesman. He was also a WWII US Army Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley Castleberry Parker of the Brewers Community; One Daughter: Denise Dixon and husband Blu Smith, Saint Louis, MO; Two Sons: David and wife Deborah Parker, Benton, KY and Daniel and wife Young Sil Parker of Daegue, South Korea; Step-Daughter: Donna and husband Mike Ethridge of Benton, KY; Two Step-Sons: Dennis and Cindy Castleberry of Mayfield, KY and Phillip and wife Heather Castleberry of Hardin, KY; Five Grandchildren: December and husband Steve Shotts of Louisville, KY; Dakota and husband Trey DeRoche of Louisville, KY, Dallas and wife Caren Parker of Paducah, KY , Christina and husband Darwin Andromuno of Charleston, SC and Carolyn and husband Jon Hobson of O'Fallon, MO; Six Step grandchildren: Jennifer and husband Jason Pigg, Michael and wife Dana Evans, Josh, Jamie, Jackson and Elizabeth Castleberry: Eight Great Grandchildren and Six Step Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Frank Alexander and Lera Darnall Parker; First Wife: June Adams Parker; Brother: Charles Parker; Two Sisters: Yvonne Stark and Dora Jackson.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton, KY with Bro. Dale Taylor and Bro. Rodney Wallace officiating. Interment will be at New Zion Cemetery, Benton, KY with Military Graveside Rites. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
