Nancy Sue Metherd King, 68, of Paducah, died Thursday at 9pm at Western Baptist Hospital.

Nancy was born July 16, 1943 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Stanley and Audrey Riordan Metherd. She graduated from Draughn’s Business College with an associates degree and worked for Peoples Bank before becoming a legal secretary for several local attorneys. She also worked as a secretary in the United States Probation Office and retired from the Federal Court System. She was a Kentucky Colonel and was of the Methodist faith.

She was the loving wife of David King and they were married for over 18 years. She is survived by her beloved children, Eda Dawn Eberhardt (Noelle Gandaoli) of Mission Viejo, CA and Deanne Logsdon (Marty) of Barlow, KY; stepchildren, Kristin Elizabeth King Page (Alan) of Wahiawa, HI and David Edward King (Melissa) of Nashville, TN; her siblings, Annette Tanner (Bill) of Metropolis, IL and Stan Metherd (Loura) of Dawson Springs. She was devoted to her grandchildren Harrison and Hamilton Page and Andrew, Emily and Galina Logsdon and great-grandchildren, Alexus and Cody Anderson.

Memorial services will be held at 6pm Sunday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Joe Beal officiating. Visitation will begin at 4pm Sunday at the funeral home.
