Relma Swearingen, 92, of Reidland passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Swearingen was a retired shoemaker from Floorshiem Shoes, a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed yardwork, collecting vintage glassware, and packing her shotgun to kill the neighborhood moles.
Surviving is her sister-in-law, Betty Henson of Reidland; two nieces, Angee Shellman and Cindy Yates both of Paducah; three nephews, Tom Henson of Symsonia, Tandy Henson of Symsonia, and Mike Henson of Murray; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Swearingen; two brothers, Ellis Henson and Rollie Nelson Henson; and one nephew, Richard Henson.
In compliance with the health and public safety directives, the funeral services for Relma will be private. She will be laid to rest at Provine Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Angee for taking care of Relma over the last few weeks during her illness.
