Samuel Marshall Higgins

Mr. Samuel Marshall (Catfish) Higgins, age 73, of Murray, KY died at 7:40am Wednesday at his home. He was born June 19,1939 in Golden Pond, KY. He was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from Continental General Tire Co. where he served as a Union Steward. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers.

Mr. Higgins is survived by his daughters; Mary Elizabeth Erwin, Rebecca Ann Brown (Steve) and Debbie Jean McClure (Nick), ons son; Wayne Higgins, and one brother; John Higgins all of Murray, KY, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife; Bobbie Jean (Smiley) Higgins on April 3,2011. They were married Feb. 9,1957. His father; Sammy Higgins, mother; Gladys (Rains) Higgins Wyatt, step father; Odie Wyatt and brother; Bobby Joe Poole.

Services will be held at 10:00am Saturday at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with Pastor Brett Miles and Rev. Bill Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Friday at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home.
