Sherry Dianne Farmer Beckman, 58, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Lourdes Hospital.
Dianne was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Womens Mininstry and Womens Missionary Union. She was a retired school teacher with the Paducah Paducah City Schools (Paducah Tilghman) and McCracken County School Systems having taught math for 29 years. Her reputation and expectations were well known. The pinnacle of her teaching career came in 2010 when the National Math & Science Initiative named her an All-American Teacher of the Year for AP Calculus. She taught over 2,000 students at all levels. Several of her students went on to become math teachers because of her inspiration. Through it all, she stood strong in her faith in Jesus Christ, which was noted by her students. Dianne was a faithful wife and loving mother to her family and trusted friend to all who knew her. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Dianne is survived by her husband of 36 years, Kent Cullen Beckman; two daughters, Amanda Carole Balcerzak and husband Chris of Paducah, KY and Emily Renee Thompson and husband Brian of Fishers, IN; two grandchildren, Daniel Lucas Balcerzak and Hannah Kay Balcerzak; sister, Pamela Carol Farmer DeBernardi and husband Ron of Symsonia, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint “Jim” Daniel Farmer and Mildred Fay Cochrum Farmer.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Reid officiating. An entombment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Visitation will start at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the church.
