Wesley Russell, 83, of Murray died Monday, January 15, 2018 at his home.
Wesley was born August 7, 1934 in Calloway County, Kentucky to Wesley Young Russell and Lille Rowland Russell. He was a lifelong member of Russell’s Chapel United Methodist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by his wife, Malloy Graves Russell; a daughter, Debbie Shekell; a son, Mark Russell; three brothers, Henry, Joe and Newt Russell and a sister, Elaine Donelson.
He is survived by a daughter, Pam Zeglicz; a son, Todd Russell; nine grandchildren, Joy Camp, Dawn Shekell, John Shekell, Brandi Shekell, Nicole Correa, Michelle Lombardo, Mike Zeglicz, Brittany Russell and Brendan Russell; 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Imes Funeral Home, downtown Murray with Ronnie Burkeen officiating. Burial will follow at the Russell’s Chapel (Fossett) Cemetery. Michael Camp, Herbie Tabers, Mike Ruscio, Bobby Smith, Darrell Reczek, Luke Fisher, Marvin Robinson and John Shekell will serve as pallbearers.
A gathering of family and friends will take place 4-8 PM on Saturday, January 20 for visitation at the funeral home.
