Barbara (Bobbie) Nell Harris, 87, of Paducah, passed away July 25, 2014, with her family by her side at Baptist Health. She was the daughter of Homer and Bennie Washam and stepmother, Mrs. Erma Washam. In 1948, Bobbie married George H. Harris who proceeded her in death in 2006.
She was an avid reader who loved to work crossword and jigsaw puzzles and she cherished her family. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a graduate of Reidland High School Class of 1944. She was a member of McCracken County Homemakers.
She is survived by her children Diane (Larry) Powell, Doug (Julie) Harris of Paducah, and Debbie (Earnie) Royal of Kirksey. She is also survived by her six grandchildren David Powell of St. Louis Missouri, Amy Harris of Paducah, E.A. Royal of Murray, Ben Harris of St. Petersburg Florida, Erin Powell Herndon of Louisville, and Tara Royal of Murray. She had five great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two cousins, Bettie Lamar of Paducah and Paul Washam of Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Funeral services for Barbara (Bobbie) Nell Harris will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jewell Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the funeral home.
