Elizabeth Renee Hughes Myers, 51, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 9:28 P.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her residence.

“Beth” was born in Gallatin, Tennessee on July 2, 1967 to Eugene and Sarah Hughes.  She was a 1985 graduate of Lone Oak High School, where she participated in the band program.  She became Lone Oak High School’s first female Drum Major in nine years, a position she held for two years.  In December 1989 she graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree.  She was a devoted wife and mother, to her loving husband and two boys, one of which, her son Luke, was born a micro-preemie baby.  Beth was a strong advocate against abortion, and proudly displayed her custom made bumper sticker – “Save The Baby Humans”.  She enjoyed visiting Panama City Beach and found comfort in the sound of the ocean.  She loved music, old movies and animals.  Her love for animals prompted her rescue of several dogs and cats.  She was a very caring individual who went out of her way to make other people’s day special, and will be remembered for the way she could light up a room with her smile and laughter.  She was an extremely positive individual despite her battle with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her husband of 28 years, John Edward Myers; her sons, Chip Myers (Erin), of Louisville, Kentucky, Luke Myers, of Romeoville, Illinois; her parents, Eugene Hughes and Sarah Kay Biggs Hughes, of Lone Oak, Kentucky; her brother, Martin Hughes (Leslie), of Lone Oak, Kentucky.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Reid officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel.
