Bettie (Krone) Stom, 91, of Metropolis, formerly of Paducah, KY, went to join her heavenly family, from Lourdes Hospital, on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Preceding her death, her devoted husband Hardie Stom and two daughters, Mollie Beth Sullenger and Carol Leigh Buford. She is survived by her son-in-law Darrell Buford of Louisville and three grandchildren; Dennis Henderson of Paducah, Katie (Buford) Prushi and husband Labinot Prushi of Louisville and Kevin Buford of Cincinnati; great granddaughters, Nellie Henderson-McCoy of Columbia, South Carolina, and Danielle Hale and husband Thomas Hale of Warner Robins, GA; great great grandson, Tommy Hale of Warner Robins, GA.
Bettie was a faithful member of the Central Church of Christ in Paducah where she loved greeting members of her church family with hugs. She was a lifelong student of the Bible and a warrior of the Gospel. She was a member of the Paducah Women’s Bowling Association and an avid bowler, bowling on numerous leagues. Her passion for bowling was passed on to her grandchildren who continue to enjoy this activity today. Bettie, collected owl figurines and bells. She would spend many hours working large jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed watching western TV shows and movies. She loved sharing memories of her childhood and historical events that she had personally witnessed.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Central Church of Christ, 2201 Washington Street, Paducah, KY 42003 with Jim Faughn presiding. The family ask that you honor Betties life with contributions made to the Youth Ministry of the Central Church of Christ.
