Billy Henson, 73, of West Paducah passed away at 10:29 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Detroit, Michigan. Billy was retired from West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation where he served as Warehouse Foreman. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and made several mission trips to Russia and Arizona. Billy received his Bachelor’s Degree from Mid-Continent University and pastored several local Baptist Churches. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #816. Billy served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nancy Throgmorton Henson; son, Steven Matthew Henson and wife, Tami of Dexter, KY; daughters, Cheri Henson Woodruff of Benton, KY, Kandy Travis and husband, John of Belknap, IL, Kara Turner and husband, Anthony of Kevil, KY and Kimberly Ferguson and husband, Paul of Paducah, KY; sisters, Cindy Rose and husband, Steve of Benton, KY and Dena Bryant and husband Sammy of Benton, KY; Eleven grandchildren, Tasha Powell and husband, Lucas, Tyler Henson, Daniel Henson, Dakota Woodruff and wife Chelsea, Ashli Woodruff, Quinton Travis, Zachary Travis, Kaitlin Blakemore, Sadie Blakemore, Kelsie Nall and Brady Nall; nine great grandchildren, Tate Powell, Eli Powell, Hensli Powell, Ellie Mae Henson, Trenton Henson, Toby Henson, Karsen Henson, Waylon Woodruff and Kennedy Copeland; Several nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Audrey Woodruff; nephew, Joey Dunigan. His parents were Paul Thomas Henson and Geneva Whitaker Henson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow at Needmore Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
