Bobbie Kathryn Fuqua Price, 93, of Owensboro formerly of Paducah passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Signature Healthcare Hillcrest in Owensboro, KY. Bobbie Kay was born on September 13, 1924 in Paducah, KY and graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School in 1942. After working as a telephone operator at Southern Bell during WWII, she left the work force to raise her daughters. Later she returned to work for the public school system and retired from the Paducah Area Vocational School. As a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church she was very involved in various ministries.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, D. O. Price, Jr., her parents, Robert and Christine Fuqua, a brother, Billy Walker Fuqua and a sister, Margaret Ann Fuqua Mansfield.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Hara (Joe) Henderson from Huntersville, NC and Ellen (Grey) Hurt from Owensboro, KY; a sister, Sandra (Twyman)Fuqua Patterson; three granddaughters, Ladianne (Sheri) Henderson, Kathryn (Rush) Witt and Kara Hurt and eight great grandchildren, Peyton, Zachary, Hannah, Eli, Sophie, Josiah, Ezra and Ella Grace who all affectionately called her “Kay Mom”. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including, Dalton Chandler, Leah Mansfield Eidson, Laura Patterson Bowman and Jay Patterson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jamie Broome and Dr. Rushton Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
The family will greet friends and loved ones before the service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
Memorial gifts can be given in her memory to Immanuel Baptist Church, 3465 Buckner Lane, Paducah, KY 42001.
