Carleen Mitchell Friedmann, 92, of Paducah passed away at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, Illinois. She was born in Emporia, Kansas. Carleen was a volunteer tutor for Hendron-Lone Oak Elementary School for 16 ½ years. She was a member of the “I Can” Club, former member of the Highland Homemakers Club and a volunteer for the Beehive Teen Club. Carleen was retired from Family Service Society where she served as Executive Secretary for 9 years.
She is survived by her grandsons, Christopher Blake Scheer and wife Stacey of Paducah and Paul Anthony Liebetrau and wife LeNae of Santa Cruz, California; great grandchildren, Matthew Scheer, Izzy Scheer, Abby Scheer, Katiana Liebetrau, David Liebetrau and several nieces and nephews.
Carleen was preceded in death by her husband, Albert S. “Mike” Friedmann; daughter, Shelia Scheer; son, John Albert Friedmann; sister, Bonnie Griffin; brothers, Ralph Samuel Mitchell and Bruce Richard Corrick. Her parents were Carl Mitchell and Elizabeth Clay Shipley.
Private memorial services will be at a later date.
