Carole J. Hatler, 71, of West Paducah, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Carole was born in Jackson, Michigan on November 28, 1944 to the late Robert and Virginia Waudby Field.  She worked for McCracken County Board of Education for over twenty years as a cafeteria manager.  Carole was a longtime member of Heartland Worship Center.  When her daughters were younger, she enjoyed being a “band mom” and helping with their involvement in Brownies.  She was very skilled at making specialty cakes for family and friends.  Described  as “technologically challenged”, she oftentimes made phone calls to her family to help solve remote control and computer issues.  For enjoyment, Carole watched soap operas, QVC, movies, and most recently, “Blue Bloods” television series.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Ernest Hatler; daughters, Kimberly Hatler of Bowling Green, KY and Betsy Kern of Port St. Lucie, FL; granddaughters, Kimberly Nicole Redick and Kimberly Adyson Townsend; and siblings, Kate Cooper of Gilbertsville, KY, Bob Field of Australia, and Mary Helen Yoxheimer, John Field, and Mike Field all of Jackson, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Boyd and Rev. Bill Miller officiating.  Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
