Carolyn (McQueen) Shemwell, 81, of Paducah passed away at 7:45 PM Monday, September 15, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Shemwell was a graduate of Augusta Tilghman 1951 Class, she retired from the McCracken County Court Clerk’s Office and was a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah.
She is survived by her son, Jay Shemwell of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters, Debra Stone and husband Michael of Paducah, Brooke Barnes and husband Terry of Lowell, MA; five grandchildren, Ashley (Carr) Reding and husband Aaron, Clint Fryberger, Sam White, Erik Barnes, Isaac Barnes; three great grandchildren, Kathryn Reding, Andrew Reding, Adam Reding.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie F. Shemwell; daughter, Jane (Shemwell) White; mother, Anna Jenece (Warren) Gift; father, James P. McQueen.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 19, 2014 at Rosebower Cemetery of Paducah with Rev. Fred French officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Hughes Funeral Home.
