Charles “Kirky” Tate, IV., 78, of Paducah passed away at 4:02 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Lourdes Hospital. He was a native of Paducah. Kirky served in the United States Army and the National Guard retiring with 28 years of service. He was a self-employed business man, owning several different types of businesses. Kirky was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served as the Maintenance Keeper of the church. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Club and had his Pilot License. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

In Kirky’s younger years he was a musician and played in a band. He enjoyed performing magic and Ventriloquism. Kirky enjoyed story telling and sharing his life stories with other people and always had a joke to tell. He recognized the beauty of all of God’s creation and loved sharing that beauty with others. The thing that Kirky loved the most was his family, he cherished his children and grandchildren. If you ever met Kirky you loved him and had a friend for life. Kirky had a great impact on many lives that he has come in contact with through the years, he will be truly missed by all.

He is survived by his daughter, Krissy Milford and husband Chris of Paducah; son, Charles “Chuck” Tate, V. and wife Janel of Paducah; step-son, Jay Hiett and wife Elizabeth of Evansville;sister, Lisa Davis and husband Jimmy of Paducah; brother, James ‘Jimmy” Tate and wife Beverly of Oscar; grandchildren, McCall Milford-Fisher and husband Phil, Forrest Milford, Atherton Milford, Charles “Charlie” Tate, VI., James Grant Tate, Chandler Hiett, Christopher Hiett, Shephard Hiett and several nieces and nephews.

Kirky was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Kaye Frances Henson Tate. His parents were Charles “Charlie” Tate, III. and Irene Sellars Tate.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor David Appold officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Brooks Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
