Charles R. “Chuck” Cordon, 88, of Paducah, died Tuesday at
11:45 pm at Superior Care Home.
Chuck served in the United States Army Air Corps during
World War II. He was a graduate of Syracuse University. He was a
longtime member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He retired from BF
Goodrich as a chemical engineer and was a former member of Paducah Lion’s Club,
a Kentucky Colonel and Duke of Paducah.
He is survived by his children, two daughters, Anna Culler
and Martha Holt both of North Carolina; three sons, Charles T. Cordon of
Alaska, John Cordon of Kentucky and Ken Cordon of New York; a sister, Cathryn
“Kay” Barry; step daughters, Julie Bray McCoart, Susan Bray Mason, and Mary
Ruth Bray Maggard all of Paducah; step sons, George Bray and Tim Bray both of
Paducah, Mike Bray of Portland, TX, and Steve Bray of Monrovia, CA; and four
grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Jean Bales
Cordon; second wife, Patricia Thomas Bray Cordon; step son, Rick Bray; one
sister; two brothers; and a grandson. His parents were John T. and Mary
Ellen Stack Cordon.
A memorial funeral mass will be held at noon Saturday at St.
Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. J. Patrick Reynolds officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Memorial visitation will begin
at 11am Saturday at the church.
