Don D. Dycus, 79, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 11:24 am Friday, March 24, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Don was born in McCracken County, KY on July 21, 1937 to Gilmer and Ione Dycus. After graduating from Reidland High School, he served in the United States Air Force, and went on to retire from B F Goodrich in Calvert City, KY. He was a University of Kentucky Basketball fan who also enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially feeding the birds. Don will be remembered for his love of children as well.
Mr. Dycus is survived by his wife Alice Becker Dycus, of Paducah; his daughter, Denise Dycus Pohl and husband Dominic, of San Antonio, TX; his step-daughters, Laura Simmons and husband Rob, of Ridgeland, MS, Ginger Mitchell and husband Jamie, of North Little Rock, AR; his sons, Duane Dycus, of Murray, KY, Darrell Dycus, of Hawii, Dale Dycus and wife Anne, of Catharpin, VA, Matthew Dycus and wife Courtney, of Houston, TX; his sister, Dana Forbes, of Scottsdale, AZ; 22 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dycus was preceded in death by his parents, Gilmer Dycus and Ione Hall Dycus; one sister; and five brothers.
