Evelyn L. Hickman, 80, of Lone Oak died Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:15 a.m. at her residence. Evelyn was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and a retired Realtor. Evelyn attended Benton High School and Paducah Junior College where she received an Associate Degree. She was a former member of Lone Oak Woman's Club, served as a volunteer at Rape Crisis Center, Hope Unlimited and Lourdes Auxillary. Evelyn enjoyed playing bridge, traveling to Gatlinburg to the mountains and cooking for her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Mari Jane Ellis of Lone Oak, KY; one son, John Hickman and wife Celia of Paducah, KY; two brothers, Roy Kidd and Frank Kidd both of Gilbertsville, KY, five grandchildren, Kristy Kerns and husband Willie, Heather Snell, Sarah Sanderson and husband, Nathan, Travis Hickman and Tyler King; three great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law of 32 years, Donna Hickman Hicks, Paducah, KY, several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her husband, James Hickman; parents, V.A. Kidd & Lillie Isbell Kidd; one son, Bruce Hickman; great-granddaughter, Ally Michelle Snell; one sister, Cletus Clark; and four brothers, Ellis Kidd, Ted Kidd, Gene Kidd and V.C. Kidd.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 after 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
