Mrs. Gean York, age 88 of Benton, KY died on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at her home in Benton, KY. She was a homemaker and member of Hardin Baptist Church.
Born Wednesday, February 5, 1930 in Marshall County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Myers and the late Ruth Gertrude (Darnall) Myers.
Surviving are son, David York of Benton, KY, daughters, Carolyn Cope of Benton, KY and Janette Garland of Dexter, KY, sisters, Ruth Ann Edwards of Benton, KY, Anna Lou Taylor of Benton, KY and Sis Haufeller of New Hampshire, 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reese "Mutt" York, son, Jerry York, daughter, Clara O'Bryan, brothers, Frank Myers, Abe Myers, John Irvin Myers, Mason Myers and Bub Myers, sister, Beth Henson, 1 grandchild, and 1 great-grandchild.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025, Rev. Ricky Cunningham officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pace Cemetery, Hardin, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
