Gerald “Jerry” Tate, 72 of Paducah, KY passed away 9:50 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 at his residence. Jerry was a native of Crenshaw, MS and was retired from Illinois Central Railroad and Canadian Railroad where he served as a bridge supervisor. He was a member of Crenshaw United Methodist Church. He loved visiting with his friends and enjoyed feeding the birds.
Survivors include his wife, Sherion McDowell Tate; one step-daughter, Jackie Frazier and husband, Brian of Gilbertsville, KY; one neice, Paula Clark and husband, Terry of Panama City, FL; one step-granddaughter, Jessica Frazier Schmal and husband, Jared of Lexington, KY; mother-in-law, Florence McDowell, Calvert City, KY; brother-in-law, Wally Clark of Mississippi. He enjoyed spending time with his close friend, James Troutt.
Preceding in death were his parents, James Earl Tate & Auttry Mae Rowe Tate Watlington, one sister, Joyce Clark; step-father, Bob Watlington.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Crenshaw United Methodist Church in Crenshaw, Mississippi with Rev. Mike Doss officiating. Visitation will be held in Paducah, KY, Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 12:00 noon until funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. at the Crenshaw United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Longtown Cemetery.
