Harold “Bear” Connor, age 90, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Morningside in Paducah.

 

Mr. Connor was a Paducah Tilghman High School graduate. He retired from Martin Marreitta where he was a chemical operator for 35 years. A member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and a third degree in the Knights of Columbus #1055. He served many years on the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Board. Was a  U.S. Army  veteran having served during World War II at the rank of private under General George Patton with the 39th Field Artillery Battalion, Third Infantry Division where he received a Bronze Star.

 

He is survived by one daughter, Anita Jean Connor Peck and husband Jewell of Danville, IL.; two sons, Ronald Earl Connor and wife Barb of Eddyville, KY, Michael Scott Connor of Paducah, KY; four grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Connor Griffin and husband Brad, Kelly Elizabeth Connor Ruwe and husband Stuart, Kara Elizabeth Peck Kidwell and husband Eric, Krista Renee Peck; five great grandchildren, Connor Ryan Griffin, Christian Isaiah Kidwell, Charity Lynn Kidwell, Elizabeth Rosemary Ruwe, Lillian Grace Ruwe; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Elizabeth Scott Connor; one son, Thomas Harold Connor; grandson, Kyle Peck; one sister, Barbara Connor Hester; and two brothers, Earl Connor and Herman Connor. His parents were, Earl Connor and Onice Marie Rutherford Connor

 

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with military honors in Paducah, KY.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
