Jimmy Mike was born on March 30, 1951 to James Herschel Dunn and Carolyn June Burgess Dunn in Cairo, Illinois. He was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church and after graduating from Carlisle County High School, he went to work for the Carborundum Company in Hickman, Kentucky. He was drafted in 1971 and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, then returned to the Carborundum Company. Jimmy Mike was affectionately called “Boar Hog” by his family and friends and loved to spend time in the river bottoms, fishing and hunting. He frequented the local convenience store, B&B’s, every day for coffee and to get the pulse of the Arlington community.
He is survived by his daughter, Leah Fischer (Marshall) of Boerne, Texas; his grandsons, Lyle Steen Fischer, Nash James Fischer, and Dean Robert Fischer; his sisters, Carol Rohrer (Gary) of Arlington, Cindy Campbell (Trip) of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Janet Jones (Alan) of Ardmore, Oklahoma; his brother, Joe Dunn of Milburn; his nieces, April Jewell, Casey Hawkins, and Rachel Dunn; his nephews, Michael Rohrer, Whit Campbell, Greg Jones, Joshua Dunn, and Timothy Dunn; several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and June Dunn.
Funeral services for Mr. Dunn will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Ian Carrico officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 8, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Pallbearers for Jimmy Mike will be Bill Hall, Greg Jones, Joshua Dunn, Timothy Dunn, Whit Campbell, and Marshall Fischer. Michael Rohrer will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
