Lavern Jackson McDougal, 89, of Lone Oak died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Embracing Hospice Center in Snellville, GA. Lavern was a long time member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and native of Stewart County, TN. She was a life time member of Lone Oak High School Parent Teacher Association, and held many offices for many years. Lavern was an active member of the McCracken County Homemakers.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years Bruce Edward McDougal SR; one daughter Debra Fay McDougal Presley and husband, Don of Snellville, GA; one son, Bruce Edward “Ed” McDougal and wife, Betsy of Paducah, KY; two sisters , Reba Jean Crutcher, Wingo, KY, Omega Adams, Paducah, KY; eight grandchildren, Holly Bichon Wynn, Teddy Bichon, Bo McDougal, Jay McDougal, Don Presley Jr., John Presley, Matthew Presley and Elizabeth Presley; ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were parents, Emmit “Buster” Jackson & Lacy Ilene Sills Jackson; five sisters, Geneva Crutcher, Oleta Leracey, Mary Lou Jackson, Dorothy Nell Henry, Lillie Crutcher; two brothers, E.V. Jackson Jr. and J.T. Jackson
Services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lone Oak First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Stan Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Lone Oak First Baptist Church Chapel.
