Lillie Sue Day age 90 of Paducah, KY formally of Sturgis died Sunday 5/13/2018 at Continue Care Hospital in Paducah, KY. She had long term sickness of Parkinson disease from early 80’s. Prior to her sickness her love for music & singing kept her going strong. She enjoyed square dancing, playing music as her and her late husband Bob traveled around playing & singing; Bluegrass, Gospel, & Country music with friends & love ones. She continued to enjoy life & music with Lee Brown her companion for over 40 years. From the heart & soul her voice will be missed and the playing music as on Sunday God called her home; he picked a new angel to sing in his choir after sharing her with us for 90 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Otho “Frog” & Beulah Jones Travis, her husband Robert Gordon Day, 2 brothers Clyde Travis & Roy Travis, 1 sister Dora Mae Crosby. Survivors include: Her Companion & Loving Care Giver - Lee Brown of Paducah, KY. 2 – Daughters Reynae Smith of Paducah, KY. Lycicia “KiKi” Mason of Murray, KY. 1- Sister Agnes Chambliss of Sturgis, KY. 3 – Grandchildren 4 – Great Grandchildren
Funeral service will be 2 PM on Wednesday 5/16 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, KY. Bro. Donnie Snyder will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday 5/15 from 4PM -7PM; and 11AM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Caseyville Cemetery in Sturgis, KY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of your choice.
