Mary Elizabeth Wurth, 94, of Paducah, KY passed away at home on Friday September 23, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Charles Roy Wurth. She was the loving mother of Patricia (Gerald) Roof and William (Rose Marie) Wurth, both of Paducah, dear grandmother of Dale (Patty) Roof of Dallas, TX, Lisa Black of Paducah, Christina (Jonathan) Perkins of Paducah, Amanda (Josh) Grace of Nicholasville, KY, Melissa (Ian) Reed of Paducah, and Aaron (Sidney) Wurth of Paducah, and great-grandmother of Taylor, Mikayla, and Kaya Roof, Kelly Black, Landon, Jack, and Addie Perkins, Logan and Ava Grace, and Elizabeth Rose Wurth.
Her sole surviving sister is Dessie Samsil of Paducah, KY. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Greely Alexander and Laura Belle Warner Alexander. Deceased brothers and sisters include Eva Wyatt Ayers, Bill Alexander, Earnest Alexander, Roscoe Alexander, Eugene Alexander, Gladys Rose, Essie Wyatt, Etna Bloomingburg, and Dorthy Herndon.
Mrs. Wurth was a native of Graves County and was employed at the Walter T. Kelly Bee Company in Lone Oak and at the Paducah Shirt Company as a seamstress. She was an active lifetime member of St. John parish and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 27th at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Frank Roof of Miami, FL will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m.
