Mary Patricia Roundtree Barfield, 63 Paducah, died Monday, September 15, 7:57 am at her residence in Paducah.
Ms. Barfield was member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis where she served as head of the Culinary Arts and Hospitality committee, and treasurer for the Women’s Mission Board. She attended Shawnee College (Ullin) and received her Associates Degree from Southern Illinois University.
Ms. Barfield retired as Human Health Resource Manager from Assurant Health in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Solomon O. Roundtree, one brother, one sister, and one grandson.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Barfield, Paducah, KY, two sons, Michael Barfield, Chicago, IL, and Maurice Barfield, Gary, IN; three daughters Deidre Kimmins, Atlanta, GA, Philicia Fields, Wilmington, NC, and Kim Barfield, Milwaukee, WI; 16 grandchildren, her mother, Hertha M. Roundtree, Paducah, KY; eight brothers, William E. Roundtree, Milwaukee, WI, Saul Eugene Roundtree, Joel L. Roundtree, Richard N. Roundtree, Jerry R. Roundtree, all of Decatur, IL, Ronald Roundtree, Charles P. Roundtree, both of Paducah, KY, and Michael R. Roundtree, Metropolis, IL.; two sisters, Marcia E. Roundtree, Milwaukee, WI, and Joyce M. Roundtree, Paducah, KY.
Services are scheduled for 12 Noon Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 South 8th Street, Paducah, KY 42003. Reverend Dr. Calvin Cole, Sr. and Reverend Orlando McReynolds will officiate; burial will follow at Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois.
The family will receive visitors Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at the church.
