Melinda Jane Sollman, age 76, of Gilbertsville, KY died on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Melinda was a loving and devoted “Nanny” to her 4 grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking, hosting and planning events and socializing with friends and family. She enjoyed spending time on the lake with her family and she loved animals, especially her cats. She loved baking her renowned apple pies and giving them to others, always with a smile on her face. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and always had the desire to try and help others. Melinda was a retired Registered Nurse in the PACU department of Baptist Health Paducah.
Melinda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Frank Sollman; her two daughters, Holly Vaughn and husband Eric of Brentwood, TN and Fran Adkins and husband Russell of Brentwood, TN; two brothers, Richard Whittington and wife Sally of Eddyville, KY and Rodney Whittington and wife Kathy of Princeton, KY; and her four grandchildren, Bennett Vaughn, Kinsey Vaughn, Miller Adkins and Finley Adkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierce and Verble Childress Whittington and her sister, Sarajean Etheridge.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Topper Council officiating. A private interment will be held at Kuttawa Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
