Nathanial Alexander Bates

Nathanial Alexander (Alex) Bates, age 20, of New Concord, KY died at 2:58am Saturday at Vanderbilt Medical Center, in Nashville, TN. He was born Dec. 1, 1992 in Effingham, IL.

Alex was a 2010 graduate of Calloway Co. High School and employed as a carpenter at Cherokee Hills.

He is survived by his mother; Loretta Lynn (Brown) Bates, father; JR Bates, sister; Emilee Rose Bates, all of New Concord, KY, his grandmothers; Linda K. Brown, of IL, and Gladys I. Cunningham, of Murray, KY, his girlfriend; Jessika Jade Walton with a child on the way, of New Concord, KY, and several aunts and uncles.

Two brothers; Justin Ray Eugene Bates and Weldon Patrick Bates preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday at BLALOCK-COLEMAN & YORK FUNERAL HOME with Jerry Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Hicks Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00am Friday until the funeral hour.
