Mrs. Norma Dean Powell, age 88 of Benton, KY, a resident of the Stilley House Assisted Living, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Superior Care Home in Paducah, KY.
Born Saturday, March 30, 1929 in Marshall Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Norwood and the late Charlene (Watkins) Norwood. She was the wife of 63 years to the late Shermon Pershing Powell. Mrs. Powell was retired from Fisher Price Toys in Murray, KY, a member of the Woodmen of the World. She was a member of Briensburg Baptist Church.
Surviving are her two daughters; Sherma Scott, husband Tommy of Mayfield, KY and Ginger Powell of Benton, KY, two sons, Timothy N. Powell, wife Karen of Benton, KY and Rev. Thomas J. Powell, wife Beverly of Clarksville, TN; brothers, Jim Ed Norwood of Kirksey, KY and Max Norwood of Hardin, KY; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Rev. Brad Walker, Rev. Calvin Wilkins and Rev. Tom Powell will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
