James Randall “Randy” Castleman, 70, of Melber, died Friday, May 27, 2016 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Randy was born in Lovelaceville, KY on September 7, 1945 to the late James R. “Jimmy” Castleman and Naomi Watters Castleman.  He was disabled from a birth injury but lived independently from age 18 until age 67. He was never able to drive a car but enjoyed riding the lawnmower and eventually his own golf cart around Melber.  He loved to make people laugh and was known for having an outstanding memory.  Burger King Cheeseburgers and coffee with sugar cubes were his favorites.  He routinely watched Gunsmoke and followed the St. Louis Rams football team.

 

Randy is survived by two nieces, Karen D. Mathis and husband, Neal of Melber and Gena L. Hicks and husband Scott of West Paducah; and several great nieces and nephews.

 

Preceding him in death were his sister, Patricia Sue Redford; brother-in-law, James Larry Redford; an infant brother; and his parents.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Terry Norris officiating.  Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery in Lovelaceville.  Visitation will begin at 11am Monday at the funeral home.
