Ruth Ellen Johnson age 85, of Paducah, KY passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at 1:20 a.m. at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Ruth attended Heartland Worship Center and was a former member of the American Legion. She was a native of Wewoka, OK and formerly resided at the Jackson House in Paducah. Ruth was a dance instructor and owned her own studio for many years. Ruth had a passion for dancing and being able to teach others, was a long time occupation that she enjoyed.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonyia Turnbow of Paducah, KY and Chandra Johnson, St. Louis, MO; two sons, Donald Clayton Johnson and wife, Irina Shukhat of Libertyville, IL, Ronalde Johnson and wife Paula of Champaign, IL; one brother, Robert Whitesides and wife Mary Val of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren, Victoris Maxine Turnbow, Matthew Chance Johnson, Kayla Capri Johnson, several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was husband, Cecil E. Johnson; parents, William Jaei Whiteside and Lola Ethel Miller Whiteside, one sister, Lois Schum and two brothers, Dean Whitesides and Max Whitesides.
Services will be held Thursday , October 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Johnny Sams officiating. Burial will follow at Brooks Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
