William Gatha Stacy

William Gatha Stacy, 90, of Paducah died at 4:10 AM Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Baptist Health. 



Gatha was born July 4, 1924 in Hardin County, Illinois to A.H. “Moose” and Tressie Stacy. He entered the Army on February 15, 1944 and served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe under Gen. George Patton, Intelligence Division.



He worked many years as Safety and Labor Relations for Pennwalt Corp. in Rosiclare, IL. He is a member of the Methodist Church in Estero, FL.



He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Corenne Stacy of Paducah; his son, Don Martin Stacy of Paducah; two grandsons, Matt Stacy, Mark Stacy; one great granddaughter, Kendall Stacy; three brothers, A.C. Stacy of Cave-In-Rock, IL, Donald Stacy of Paducah, Roger Stacy of Owensboro, KY; several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, A.H. Stacy and Tressie Stacy.



There will be no visitation or service.
