Willie Dee Blackwell Sr., 92, of Gilbertsville, Ky, formerly of Kevil, Ky passed away at 5:30 pm Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Marshall County Hospital.

Willie was born July 5, 1922 in Anniston, Mo. to the late Earnest Blackwell and Minerva Showmaker Blackwell. He was a 62-year lifetime member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #184 and retired from Morsey Construction.   He was a 55 year lifetime member of Masonic Lodge #707 in Grahamville, joining in 1960.  Willie served in the United State Army Infantry from December, 1941-December, 1945 and is a WWII veteran. He was a member of the Anniston (Mo.)First Christian Church and attended the Kentucky Lake Mission Church from 1992-2008 and Mount Carmel Methodist Church from 2008-present.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Jean Glisson Blackwell, to whom he married June 13, 1970; daughters, Elizabeth Wilks and husband Bill of west Paducah, Sandra Fleming and husband Daniel of Kevil, and Stephanie Kendall and husband Phillip of LaCenter; sons, Willie D. Blackwell, Jr. and wife Manda of West Paducah, Bill Orr and wife Joyce of Covington, and Terry L. Orr of Gilbertsville; 19 grandchildren, Matthew Blackwell, Micah Blackwell, Stephen Blackwell, David Blackwell, Jessica Wilks, Joshua Wilks, Dee Lynn Rice, Kenneth Orr, Tiffany Colston, Jason Orr, Philip Orr, Jr, Tamara Perdew, Brian Orr, Daniel Orr, Felicia Fleming, Lori Bauer, Candice Kendall Holder, and Rachel and Lauren Kendall; and 33 ¾ great grandchildren, Maci, Max and Ty Blackwell, Olivia, Ashlyn and Kye Matthew Blackwell, Katelyn McMurtry, Jarrett, Landon and Madelyn Rice, Taylor Wilks and Will Denkins, Alex and Zack Blackwell, Cameron and Myles Blackwell, Mathew and Tyler Colston, Austin Orr, Myles and Will Orr, Garrett and Kendall Perdew, Urijah Fleming, Jake Bauer, Brady and Bailey Orr and Dagny Holder.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Maxine Williams Blackwell; one daughter, Gloria Jean Blackwell; one son, Philip Dean Orr, Sr.; two sisters and two brothers.

Memorial services will be held at 1pm Saturday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bob Cain officiating. Services will conclude with masonic rites. Memorial visitation will begin at 10am Saturday.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
