A Paducah woman was arrested Saturday on DUI and drug charges after a traffic stop.
At 11 pm, deputies with the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation.
While speaking with the driver, 57-year-old Theresa Walker, deputies say marijuana smoke was coming from inside the vehicle. Additionally, deputies say she attempted to throw a bag of marijuana to keep it from being located.
Authorities say she admitted to drinking earlier in the night but denied smoking marijuana.
A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a partially smoked marijuana joint and a container of gabapentin.
She was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, no insurance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two equipment violations.
She was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
