Name: Laster, David

Master Sergeant David Laster, 63, of Murray, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

David was born on February 14, 1957 in Chicago, IL to the late Marvin and Francis Bilyeu Laster.  He proudly served his country for 27 years in the United States Army.  He served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Noble Eagle.  In 2002, David had the privilege of serving in Cuba with his son and then again in Iraq in 2008.  After retiring from the US Army, David enjoyed traveling with his wife, but most importantly loved spending time with his three grandchildren.  He and Terry are members of Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Murray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deloris Ann Laster.

Those he lovingly leaves behind include his wife, Terry, to whom he married on October 20, 1978; a son, Michael Laster of Murray; a daughter, Dana Crass (Robert) of Murray; two brothers, Macglenn Laster of Russellville, KY, Harold Laster (Faye) of Lewisburg, KY; a sister, Barbara Fay Belcher of Lewisburg, KY; three grandchildren, Troy Crass, Hayden Crass and Aaron Laster as well as his mother in law, Shirley Richardson.

The funeral for Mr. David Laster is set for 11 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray.  Jordan Roach and Phillip Bazzell will officiate.  Entombment with military honors will follow at Murray City Cemetery.  Pallbearers include, Jason Holmes, Chris Morgan, Scott Wyatt, Darrell Robertson, Michael Weatherford, Jimmie Tubbs.

His family welcomes visitors from 5 PM - 8 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel.
