Despite a 5-run deficit in the third inning ,the Muhlenberg County Stallions almost came all the way back, eventually falling 8-7 to the Paducah Chiefs on Saturday. 

Muhlenberg County scored six runs in the failed comeback on a single by Noah Myers in the fourth, a single by Jalen Horton in the fourth, a home run by Brady O’Neil in the fifth, a walk by Kyle O’Brien in the seventh, a single by O’Neil in the seventh, and a fielder's choice by Zack Tong in the seventh. 

The Stallions couldn't keep up with the Chiefs early in the game. Paducah scored on a single by Kyle Antos, a single by Brandon Kelly, and a double by Nick Shumaker in the second inning.
 
The Chiefs pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Antos singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Kelly singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and Shumaker doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. 

Muhlenberg County scored three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by the Stallions was led by O’Brien, O’Neil, and Tong, who all drove in runs.
 
John Dowless pitched the Chiefs to victory. He lasted six innings, allowing ten hits and six runs while striking out three. Logan Bowen threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bowen recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Paducah.
 
Alan Howe took the loss for the Stallions. He surrendered six runs on eight hits over five and a third innings, striking out three and walking zero. 

Muhlenberg County tallied one home run on the day. O’Neil went yard in the fifth inning. The Stallions tallied 14 hits. Ronnie Allen, O’Neil, Javy Lopez, Jacob Morris, Horton, and Justin Chauvin all managed multiple hits for Muhlenberg County. Chauvin, Horton, Morris, Lopez, O’Neil, and Allen each collected two hits to lead the Stallions. Muhlenberg County stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Morris led the way with two. 

Paducah collected 11 hits on the day. Kelly, Shumaker, and Antos each had multiple hits. Kelly went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Chiefs in hits.
