The Paducah Chiefs fought back after falling down by five runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 6-4 loss to the Henderson Flash on Thursday. 

Paducah scored four runs in the failed comeback on a ground out by Kevin Brenning in the third, a single by Reid Pope in the third, a double by Nick Shumaker in the fourth, and a single by Peyton Sockwell in the fourth. The Chiefs fell behind early in the loss. 

In the first inning, Henderson Flash got their offense started. Ryne Travis was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. The Flash scored on a single by Paul Haupt in the second inning. They also scored three runs in the second inning. Henderson Flash scored its runs on a single by Haupt.

Trey Congleton got the win for Henderson. He allowed one hit and zero runs over two and a third innings, striking out four and walking zero. Trevor Nicholson and Drew Behling entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Nicholson recorded the last six outs to earn the save for the Flash.

Stone Selby took the loss for the Chiefs. He surrendered four runs on four hits over two innings, striking out two.

Travis Hennessy started the game for Henderson Flash. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out one.

Paducah racked up ten hits in the game. Sockwell, Brandon Kelly, and Blake Johnson each racked up multiple hits for the Chiefs. Sockwell led Paducah with three hits in five at bats. The Chiefs stole four bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Kelly led the way with two. Paducah was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Sockwell made the most plays with eight.

Henderson scattered 12 hits in the game. Haupt, Behling, Evan Keller, and Tyler Roberts all had multiple hits for the Flash. Haupt went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Henderson in hits.
