Murray State baseball's Tyler Lawrence and Kipp Moore have both signed free agent contracts to play professionally as Lawrence signed with the Milwaukee Brewers and Moore signed with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Lawrence finished his illustrious career at MSU owning most of the offensive records in program history as he finished the all-time leader in career hits (266), RBIs (189), doubles (59), total bases (432) and at-bats (843). He also ranks second all-time in career runs with 174 and third in walks with 139. His 31 career home runs finished as the sixth most all time and his 222 games played are the most in Racers history.

Lawrence was a three-time All-OVC honoree at MSU and a Freshman All-American. He hit .292 with 10 homers and 49 RBIs this past season while collecting 13 doubles and drawing 40 walks, which ranked second on the team.

Moore, who has been a fixture in the Racers' lineup each of the last three seasons, was one of two Racers to have appeared in all 59 games in 2017. Moore hit .286 on the year with 10 home runs and 34 RBIs while also scoring 50 runs.

Moore was indispensable in the field defensively this season as he made 26 starts behind the plate at catcher, played 22 games at second base and 21 games at third base. He also led all primary infielders with a .982 fielding percentage.

Both players will travel to the organization's spring training facility where they will wait on their future assignments.
