Murray State juniors Jonathan Stark and Terrell Miller, Jr., were honored as members of the All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team and All-OVC Newcomer Team for the 2016-17 season.
 
The OVC honors were voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
 
Since 2009, MSU has landed two or more players on the All-OVC team in seven of eight seasons. Stark and Miller are the 11th and 12th Racers to be named both All-Conference and All-Newcomer. Jarvis Williams and Cameron Payne were the last to do it in the 2013-14 season.
 
#2 -Jonathan Stark – G- 6-0 – Jr. - Munford, Tennessee
Stark joined the Racers this season after sitting out the 2015-16 season and finished the regular season as the OVC scoring leader with 21.1 points per game. He's second in the league with 5.3 assists per game and is eighth in free throw shooting with a .821 percentage. Additionally, Stark is eighth in steals with 1.3 per game and second in made 3-pointers per game at 3.1. He has made 42 percent of his 3-point attempts for sixth place in the OVC.
 
His top scoring game was against Morehead State when he scored 33 points (Feb. 8). He had a high assist game of 10 against UT Martin (Jan. 28). Stark also tied the MSU single-game record with nine 3-pointers against South Dakota State (Dec. 17) matching the mark set in 2002 by Justin Burdine.
 
Stark was named OVC Newcomer of the Week in the first four weeks of the season and tied the single-season record with seven awards that was shared by Jacksonville State's Trenton Marshall (2009-10), SEMO's Jarekious Bradley (2013-14) and Murray State's Jarvis Williams (2013-14).
 
Stark has 17 games this season of 20 points or more and goes into the OVC Tournament ranked 17th in the nation in scoring (21.1ppg) and 10th in total points (634). With 93 3-point baskets made, Stark has a chance to become just the second Racer to hit 100 in a single season, possibly following De'Teri Mayes who hit 103 in the 1997-98 season.

Miller joined the Racers from Southwest Mississippi JC and was the eighth-place scorer in the OVC with 16.1 points per game and seventh in rebounding with 8.1 per game. He's also one of the best free throw shooters among front line players as he ranked 15th in the league with a percentage of .764 and a top big man in the league in shooting 3-pointers where he ranked ninth in the OVC at .404.
 
His best scoring game was against UT Martin (Jan. 28) with 30 points and his top rebounding effort was 14 against Eastern Illinois (Jan. 12). He showed an ability to dominate in the paint several times including a 27 point/10 rebound game at Ole Miss (Dec. 15). Miller has eight games of 20-point scoring this season and has 10 double-doubles.
 
Miller was named OVC Newcomer of the Week three times.
