Korte earned a berth by being the highest individual finisher that was not already on one of the top five qualifying teams, which included UCLA, Georgia, the University of Central Florida, Texas A&M and Arizona State.
Korte fired a one-under par 69 Saturday, to shoot 64-71-69= 204 for the tournament, six shots behind the leader. He was tied for the overall lead after the first round, and held on to a third place tie on Friday with teammate Marco Iten.
The Governors team finished tied for seventh, after surging ahead of several nationally-ranked schools into third place on Thursday.
The NCAA championship tourney will be played May 28 - June 2, at the Capital City Club/Crabapple Course in Atlanta.
At the Fayetteville, Arkansas regional, Murray State's Patrick Newcomb finished his Racer career as he shot 76-80-82 = 238 to finish in a tie for 58th place. The regional was won by the University of Illinois, with the University of Kentucky finishing tenth.
