Murray State men's basketball coach Matt McMahon announced the signing of 6-3 guard Jerami Grace from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.

Out of Dallas, Grace will be a sophomore and have three seasons to play for the Racers starting with the 2016-17 season.

"Jerami is a skilled guard who can really shoot the basketball," McMahon said. "We love his feel for the game and his ability to score in a variety of ways.  He comes from a great program at McLennan and we look forward to him making an impact at Murray State."

The Highlanders finished 28-6 in the 2015-16 season and advanced to the National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS before losing in the Sweet 16 round.

Grace scored 18.9 points per game and upped that to 21.5 in North Texas Junior College Conference play. He also grabbed 3.9 rebounds per game and dished out 2.8 assists per game.

Grace was eighth in the nation with 102 made 3-point baskets and was 39 percent for the season. He made 77 percent from the free throw line.

At season's end, he was named 1st Team All-NTJCAC and the league's Newcomer of the Year.
