The Murray State men's basketball team is ready to make a Canadian exhibition tour to Ottawa and Montreal (Aug. 1-6).

With 10 practices and three exhibition games to come, this trip coincides perfectly with the recent hire of new Head Coach Matt McMahon. He became the Racers' 16th head coach (June 9) when Steve Prohm left to coach Iowa State.

"I'm excited about starting our preparation for next month's trip to Canada," McMahon said. "With seven new players and our new coaching staff, we'll take advantage of this time to begin implementing our system while still focusing on our skill development program. Most importantly, this trip will be a great experience for our players and provides a valuable opportunity to build our team chemistry."

"I want it to be about more than just the games," McMahon added. "It'll be about the team meals we have and touring the cities (we visit) and unique team-building exercises. It's going to be a lot of fun for us."

After flying from Nashville to Ottawa (Aug. 1), the Racers play a pair of games against the University of Ottawa (Aug. 2) and Carleton University (Aug. 3). After busing to Montreal, the Racers face Concordia University (Aug. 5) before flying back to Nashville (Aug. 6).

When the 2015-16 season does arrive, the Racers will be looking for another great season that stands at six straight 20-win campaigns and 28 straight winning seasons.
