Murray State's Jonathan Stark was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for a fourth-straight week when the league's sports information directors voted on Monday.

The junior guard from Munford, Tennessee, continues to turn heads in his short time in the Murray State uniform and his career with the Racers is only eight games old.

In games at Southern Illinois and home against Detroit Mercy last week, Stark averaged 28.0 points, 6.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per-game, while hitting 46.2 percent (18-of-39) from the field, 40 percent (4-of-10) from 3-point range and 94.1 percent (16-of-17) from the free throw line.

Stark opened the week with a season-high 29 points and eight assists in an overtime loss at Southern Illinois and scored 27 points in a win over UDM.

He currently ranks first in the OVC and 15th nationally in scoring at 22.6 points per-game. He's also 16th nationally in 3-pointers made per-game at 3.50.

Stark joins a short list of eight OVC players that have won one of the league's weekly honors four or more consecutive weeks. He's the second player to win the OVC Newcomer of the Week award four times, following Jarekious Bradley of Southeast Missouri State in the 2013-14 season.
