The University of Louisville's men's basketball faced off in the second Red and White scrimmage on Friday night as they prepare for the upcoming season. The White team got off to a quick start and never looked back, winning 123-80.
 
Jay Henderson led the White team in scoring with 29 points. Henderson went 10 of 11 from the field and 9 of 10 from the three-point line and added three assists and a steal. Newcomer V.J. King led the charge for the Red team with 17 points and one assist. The White team's Quentin Snider and Deng Adel led both sides in assists with eight. Snider added 18 points, and Adel added 22 points. Ray Spalding was the top rebounder of the game, pulling down 12 boards and adding 11 points for the Red team.
 
The White team applied full-court pressure the entire game and went on a 30-7 run from the 15:08 to the 7:24 marks in the first half to take a 17-point lead, and they never looked back. They led the Red team by 21 at halftime with a score of 65-44. They're largest lead topped out at 45 late in the second half.
 
The Red team's Ryan McMahon was second on the team in scoring with 15, with 12 of them coming from behind the three-point line. The White team's Donovan Mitchell played a solid game tallying 21 points, five assists, three steals and a block. Anas Mahmoud led the White team's defense with five blocks.
 
Newcomer Tony Hicks played well for the Red team adding 13 points, five assists, and one steal.
 
The White team finished the game shooting 56 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the three-point line.  The also held a 51-37 rebounding edge. 
 
The Cardinals will be back in action with the first exhibition game of the season against Kentucky Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd at the KFC Yum! Center.
