McCracken County turned four doubles into four runs on their way to a 4-0 win over Graves County Monday in the quarterfinals of the 1st Region Baseball Tournament at Marshall County High School. Cole Womack pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings for the Mustangs (31-2), with four strikeouts and two walks. He only surrendered four hits on the afternoon.

The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Derek Schneider. McCracken then tallied one run in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings.

In the third, McCracken scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Garner, plating Womack. In the fourth, the Mustangs scored on another RBI single by Schneider. In the fifth, the last run was scored on a throwing error.

Four of the Mustangs' eight hits were doubles (Keegan Breese 2, Tyler Hicks, and Cole Womack), and all four came with no outs to lead off the inning.

Tanner Smith took the loss for the Eagles (20-16). In four innings of work, Smith walked one, struck out two and allowed four runs, two of which were earned. Eamon Hannan gave up one hit in two innings pitched.

The win was McCracken's 15th shutout on the year. The Mustangs will play Marshall County (24-10) Tuesday at 5pm.
